MEXICO CITY (AP) — With a goal from Colombian Jaine Barreiro in stoppage time, a León that played with 10 men for almost the entire complement defeated Atlético de San Luis 1-0 on Saturday, and was provisionally placed in the play-off zone in the Mexican league.
Barreiro scored the only goal of the match in the 91st minute for the Fiera, who won for the second time in their last three games.
With the victory, León now has seven points, placing it in 12th position among 18 teams, awaiting the other results on the eighth date.
La Fiera played with one man less from the 56th minute when Uruguayan Alan Medina was sent off.
San Luis extended its string of games without winning to five and remains with seven points, in 13th place.
