The much-anticipated Maluma concert at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium in Caracas did not go as smoothly as fans and organizers had hoped. Despite efforts to improve logistics after previous issues with traffic and overcrowding at the venue, the stadium still failed to fill to capacity.
Organizing company Invershow faced criticism for not adequately promoting the event, leading to a lackluster turnout. Even social media contests were unable to drum up enough excitement for the Colombian singer’s performance. The last-minute addition of Venezuelan artist Corina Smith did little to boost attendance.
Attendees also expressed disappointment at the presence of netting in front of the stadium’s home plate, typically used for baseball games. Some fans suggested that the location may not be suitable for concerts in the future.
Journalist Ingrid Bravo Balabu shared her thoughts on the situation, noting that the stadium is best suited for talented artists but may need to reconsider its pricing and logistics for future events. Despite the turnout, the concert was a stark contrast to the organizational disaster seen at a recent show by Mexican singer Luis Miguel.
It remains to be seen how Invershow will address these issues and whether the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium will continue to be a viable venue for large concerts in the future.
