Dragon Ball Fans Rejoice: Series to Continue for Another 10 Years

Dragon Ball is one of the most beloved manga series to come out of Japan, and it appears that fans can look forward to enjoying it for years to come. The popular series, inspired by Wu Cheng’en’s novel, Journey to the West, has captured the hearts of fans worldwide with its captivating story of Goku, Vegeta, and their journey to become stronger.

The series has spawned multiple sequels and spinoffs, including Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT, all of which have remained popular with fans. And now, it seems that the Dragon Ball franchise is set to continue for another 10 years.

While the original manga concluded in 2018, the story has continued through movies and other media. It was recently announced that a new anime series, Dragon Ball Daima, will be arriving in 2024, much to the excitement of fans.

In an interview with Japanese media Nikkei, Akio Iyoku, the president of Capsule Corporation Tokyo and executive producer of the anime, confirmed that the series will continue for at least another 10 years. He stated, “As executive producer of a work with unprecedented longevity, my goal is to expand and convey what the original creator, Akira Toriyama, did. I will produce new works, such as anime series, movies, and games, for the next 10 years.”

This announcement is sure to excite fans who have been eagerly awaiting more content from the Dragon Ball universe. Iyoku also emphasized the importance of keeping the series productive in the coming years, to avoid having long periods of dormancy between releases.

“We should not create a situation where a manga becomes an anime, and when it concludes, the content ends as it is,” Iyoku explained. “The ideal situation is in which the average viewer sees the content. I don’t think it is good at all to have a ‘boom’ that accumulates and then goes off, which is a factor for the content not to last long.”

With this exciting news, it looks like Dragon Ball fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. The series will continue to expand and grow, bringing new adventures and stories for fans to enjoy for the next decade.
