The Ministry of National Security confirmed this Thursday through a resolution signed by its head, Patricia Bullrich, the creation of an “anti-mafia unit” to combat violence in Rosario, Santa Fe. Simultaneously, this Thursday the first vehicles of the Armed Forces to reinforce the fight against drug gangs, which have been frightening the population for days. There were threats in schools.
As this media learned from sources close to the ministry, the objective is to “promote a comprehensive and multi-agency approach in the fight against organized mafia crime.”
They also detailed that it will be confirmed by a Special Anti-Mafia Investigation Group (GEIA) and an Evaluation Table of Organized Crime of Mafia Action (MECOAM), which will seek to strengthen prevention and investigation actions.
“The Anti-Mafia Unit (UA) will be within the scope of the Secretariat for the Fight Against Narcotics and Organized Crime of this Ministry, and its head will be appointed by the Minister. At the same time, the resolution invites the Board to join of Evaluation of Organized Crime of Mafia Action, to the Narcocrime Prosecutor’s Office (PROCUNAR) and to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Unit in Organized Crime (UFECO), both dependent on the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
