On the heels of its collaboration with Burberry, Supreme welcomes its latest collaboration with artist Nate Lowman this week. Nate was born in Las Vegas, USA in 1979 and grew up in California. After 1997, he moved to New York and studied at New York University. After graduating in 2001, he worked as a security guard at the Dia Art Center before slowly embarking on the path of an artist. . He enjoys collecting fragments of contemporary American life and artistically re-examining them. His artistic works cover various forms such as painting, printing, sculpture, installation, collage, etc., especially the common materials such as flyers, stickers or newspapers in life, and then reshape them into a new visual language.
This collaborative project features Nate’s iconic ‘bullet hole’ element, bringing single items such as vests, sweaters, hooded sweaters, short-sleeved shirts, trousers and pins. It is reported that Nate first discovered the pattern on a car sticker at a gas station in Texas. He later enlarged the pattern and reproduced it in silkscreen form, and appeared several times in his first exhibition in 2005. When the Supreme Shibuya Shibuya store opened in 2012, this element was also applied to the interior decoration and store-limited Box Logo Tee.
