In the beginning it was the slippers. Then, in the winter, she touched the gloves. For the summer of 2022, however, the sandal could not be missing. Indeed, the modular sandals. Strictly one more than the traditional pair, that is three, to unbalance and create plays of colors. It is the new project of the innovative Italian accessories brand UN / PAIR, a startup created at the beginning of 2021 by the designer Giulia Bagella, a stylist who has collaborated for important Italian fashion brands over the last 10 years. After the last multi-year experience for the Max Mara Group, you decided to open your own accessories company in a way that allows you to continually mismatch the classic pair, playing on the interchangeability of some elements.
The UN / PAIR collection is therefore enriched for the summer with another revisited classic: a sandal slide flat where to multiply by three this time are the detachable straps of the upper. Thanks to the six press-studs, which allow you to easily replace the mask that makes up the upper, the customer decides how to wear it: whether with a pair or unpaired upper.
Six press studs in galvanic nickel that recall the geometry of the three and that leave the freedom to “build” your own sandal according to the mood of the moment.
Tac tac is the sound of a contagious “attack detach”. Designed together with a Tuscan craftsman, the sandal has a mirror laminated cowhide upper and there are three color variants, bronze, midnight blue and emerald green, which always match with a third silver-colored mask to always carry with you in your clutch.
The template is square and the padded insole is covered in worked velvet, a precious material, which reunites with the imaginary of the Friulian woman, another creation by UN / PAIR: the bronze variant is combined with a begonia pink velvet, with midnight blue a powder blue, and with green an intense emerald color.
The joy of the color variations and the mix and match of the materials blend with a geometric and essential design. The lining and the insole, also in black leather, contribute to accentuate the graphic effect of this sandal with a 60s flavor.
