Ford W University, when only women drive in Monza

ROME – On the track or on screen, women learn the tricks of perfect driving thanks to “Ford W University”. The Monza racetrack was tinged with pink for the first stage of the initiative (the second will take place on 21 June, again on the Monza circuit), organized as part of the “The W Track” project, commissioned by Ford Italy on the occasion of “International Women’s Day”. On March 8, the project was launched with the aim of promoting gender equality by opening up a possibility of universal access to eSports, a world in which Ford has been present for some years with the fierce Fordzilla Team.

This team of drivers who, on the wave of the heritage of the blue oval house in real races, aims to compete at the highest levels even in virtual ones, currently sees only one female representative Sara Stefanizzi (aka Kurolily), in the team of riders . “The fact that there is only one woman in the Fordzilla Team is our lack – underlined Fabrizio Faltoni, president and CEO of Ford Italy – We know that future pro-gamers are out there but we haven’t looked for them enough. It is clear that we have to do things differently. We cannot win the race without even starting it and for this reason we have decided to take to the track by organizing training days dedicated to women “.

Thus, here are the two days of training reserved for women with the aim of learning to get to know all the secrets of safe driving, on a real and virtual track, with the technical advice of the drivers of Ford Driving University and sim-racers. professionals. The future “pro-racers” (24 participants for each training day), compete with test sessions on the track, in the “temple” of speed in Monza, aboard the Mustang Mach-E, and with challenges at the wheel of the simulators. by sim-racing. Thanks to the support of the Ford Driving University team of drivers, the participants have the opportunity to try all the practices related to safety and control of the car on the track, from setting the trajectories, to handling, up to braking, to control oversteer or dynamic behavior in different driving conditions. There is also the session on board the sim-racing simulators where, under the guidance of professional sim racers, the participants can experience all the secrets and the best techniques to compete in the world of virtual racing.
