Former Alberta Dance Company Artistic Director and his wife praise Shen Yun’s performance in Edmonton
On April 14, the American Shen Yun Touring Troupe concluded their performance at the Jubilee Theater in Edmonton, Canada, leaving former Alberta Dance Company Artistic Director George Chrunik and his wife in awe. The couple marveled at the extraordinary skills of the Shen Yun dancers, describing the performance as flawless and as beautiful as poetry flowing on stage.
Having spent over 40 years in the dance industry, George Chrunik has been a dancer, coach, choreographer, and member of the Arts Council. He once led the Alberta Ukrainian Dance Company (Shumka) to perform in Ukraine and is well-versed in the art of dance. His wife Maria, a former dancer herself, deeply respects Shen Yun’s ability to showcase culture through the art of dance.
The Chruniks applauded Shen Yun’s fearlessness in expressing spiritual beliefs through their art, a bold move in today’s society where faith is often criticized. They commended the troupe for openly professing their beliefs on stage and admired the powerful appeal of culture in their performances.
