Former Chinese Political Official Harry Hu Finds Freedom and Belief in Falun Gong
On May 10, 2024, in New York, former member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Harry Hu, expressed his dedication to pursuing his belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance” on the occasion of the 25th “World Falun Dafa Day” and Mr. Li Hongzhi’s birthday. In a statement to The Epoch Times, Hu wished Master Li a happy birthday and emphasized the significance of his decision to practice cultivation.
Hu, who was previously a member of the Standing Committee in a Chinese district and the principal of a private school in eastern China, made the decision to leave China due to the deteriorating environment in the country. He recounted his experiences during the epidemic, where he witnessed the falsification of nucleic acid data by the Chinese authorities and the hardships faced by individuals as a result.
After arriving in the United States in September 2023, Hu found solace in meeting Falun Gong practitioners and understanding their beliefs. Inspired by a friend who had been unjustly imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong, Hu decided to learn more about the practice and its teachings of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.”
Expressing his commitment to promoting these values and advocating for Falun Gong, Hu stated, “I want to change myself and the people around me. I want to speak out for Falun Gong. I want to join this torrent and practice ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.’ If more people join in, that would be great!”
As he embarks on this new journey of self-discovery and advocacy, Hu sends his best wishes to Master Li on World Falun Dafa Day and vows to diligently practice the principles of Falun Gong while spreading awareness about the persecution faced by practitioners in China. He hopes to inspire others to join in the movement and stand against the injustices perpetuated by the Chinese Communist Party.
