Red Bull Formula 1 team boss Christian Horner is under investigation following an accusation of “inappropriate behavior.” The husband of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell flatly denied accusations of having expressed a “incredibly controlling behavior” towards a female colleague.
The Dutch newspaper The Telegraph reported that the accusation was made by a staff member of the British-based team, which last year led driver Max Verstappen to his third consecutive world championship. Horner, 50, director of the Red Bull team since 2005, flatly rejects the accusation.
“After being informed of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation“Red Bull, the Austrian energy drink firm that owns the F1 team, said in a statement. “This process, which is already underway, is carried out by an external specialist lawyer“, they detailed.
“The company takes these matters very seriously and The investigation will be completed as soon as possible. “It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time,” they announced. For his part, when asked about the allegations, Horner told The Telegraph: “I completely deny these claims.”.
Confirmation of the investigation, released this Monday, came after 36 hours of denials by the Milton Keynes-based team of any alleged irregularities. Horner also described the allegations as “crazy.”in a message protesting his innocence to MailOnline.

According to Horner loyalists, he is victim of an internal struggle within the Red Bull family in general. They claim that the accusations are smears designed to remove him from power, in an attempt to wrest control of Salzburg, headquarters of the beverage company that lends its name to the F1 team.
The team won seven drivers’ championships and six constructors’ championships under Horner. Red Bull won 21 of the 22 races held last year and Verstappen set a record of 10 consecutive victories as he moved towards his third consecutive title. Red Bull will launch its new car, the RB20, on February 15 ahead of the new season, which begins in Bahrain on March 2.
A family with Geri Halliwell and recognition of the British Empire

It seems like we are forming a band,” Horner commented the next day on his Instagram account.
Halliwell dedicated the following words to him: “You are my best friend. I love you more than words can express and I am so grateful that you are in my life. I think you are an incredible person, you are kind, loving and generous.” The last time the couple had dominated the news was when they applied to carry out work on their home – an 18th century, Grade II listed mansion, of particular interest for its historical heritage.
