From myth to poetry, Greccio gives a new look to the nativity scene

by admin

From myth to poetry, from sculpture to tradition. In Greccio, in the heart of the Valle Santa, where on the night of 1223 Francesco D’Assisi made the first representation of the nativity, the exhibition of the sculptor Felice Rufini opens, dedicated to the event that characterized that Christmas night almost 800 years ago. A “magical” night that has been repeated every year since then and that this year Greccio wanted to launch towards a modern perspective, with a sort of secular nativity scene that feeds on, however, without giving up all the condiments of the great Catholic-Christian tradition . Hence, then, the exhibition “from poietic myth to space” which will remain open throughout the Christmas period where the dozens of statues created (from 15 centimeters to one meter) by the sculptor stand out, revisiting the great tradition of the Italian nativity scene. A high-level artistic test that tells the birth of Jesus from a new perspective view. To frame the work, the painting exhibition by Donatella Fantauzzi. (p.f.)
