The news of the death of the former coach of the Argentine national teamworld champion in 1978, was confirmed by the AFA through its social networks.
“The Argentine Football Association regrets to report with great sadness the death of César Luis Menotti, current Director of National Teams and former World Champion coach of Argentina. Goodbye, Flaco dear!“, the AFA published on its social networks minutes before 4 p.m. this Sunday.
Menotti had spent ten days hospitalized at the beginning of April at the Agote Sanatorium in the Recoleta neighborhood, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. He had been diagnosed with severe anemia. After being discharged, he had returned home to his family.
