Green Light Theater Company’s “Escort – Rookie Cop vs. Veteran Pickpocket” Set to Make a Comeback

The highly anticipated Taiwanese literary drama series, “Escort – Rookie Cop vs. Veteran Pickpocket,” by Green Light Theater Company is set to make a grand comeback at the National Theater in Taipei starting from May 17. The performance, which was last held in 2020, will also see a special collaboration with the Taiwan Railway Corporation.

In addition to the theatrical performances, the Taiwan Railway Corporation will be launching the “Cuffed Genesis” Taiwan Railway lunch box to commemorate the event. The highlight of the evening show on May 19 will be the guest appearance of Du Wei, the chairman of the Taiwan Railway Corporation, who will step into the role of the station manager, bringing the essence of the train scene to life on stage.

Screenwriter Wu Nien-chen, who penned the original script, will also make a surprise appearance on stage, challenging the role of the webmaster. Fans who watched the drama nine years ago are eagerly looking forward to his performance, as he is known to add a unique flavor to the characters he portrays.

“Escort – Rookie Cop vs. Veteran Pickpocket” revolves around the Taiwan Railway Express train in the 1960s, showcasing the journey of rookie police officers and experienced pickpockets. The intense rehearsal process leading up to the premiere has already left a lasting impact on the viewers, with many describing it as a rollercoaster of emotions that made them both laugh and cry.
