He was missing, they found him dismembered and his partner was detained

In a new episode of violence and horror that shakes Córdoba, police and fire officials found in the last few hours the remains of a man who was missing in the Traslasierra valley. Official sources confirmed to La Voz that the body was dismembered and inside bags. This man’s partner was detained by order of an investigating prosecutor’s office.

The victim was identified by official sources as Omar Cabrera, who was 58 years old and came from the province of Buenos Aires.

Spokespeople with access to the case indicated that Cabrera had disappeared on April 29 in the city of Mina Clavero.

Since then, and due to judicial directives, police personnel (both uniformed and investigative) had begun an investigation and tracking to find him.

As the days passed, volunteer firefighters and personnel from the High Risk Units Department (Duar) of the Fire Department of the Police of the Province of Córdoba joined.

The searches were carried out in numerous points in that region, between rivers, fields, open fields and even abandoned areas. They also worked with trained dogs.

Given the lack of news, and along with the searches, the investigative bodies began what is usually done in these cases: interrogate relatives and neighbors, track their cell phone and communications, and search for footage.

As there was no concrete news (“the earth had swallowed him,” an investigation revealed), the detectives deepened their investigations.

The passing of the hours without news or certainty began to give the worst predictions within the investigation.

As part of the investigations, investigators found a woman who was Cabrera’s girlfriend or partner and who lived in Mina Clavero.

At first, as it turned out, the woman denied knowing about Cabrera’s whereabouts, but something “didn’t seem right.”

“They began to interrogate her and ask her to tell clearly what she knew about the case. Every time she spoke, there were more contradictions…”, an informant with access to the case told La Voz, who revealed: “Finally, the woman broke down and admitted having killed him and cut up her body. She confessed. It is a horror case. She herself gave precise information…”

One version states that tracking the communications and movement of the man’s cell phone would have been of utmost importance.

Finding of the remains

This confession would have taken place at official headquarters last Saturday.

With the precise information provided by the woman, as it turned out, police personnel went to the town of Las Rabonas (a little more than 17 kilometers from Mina Clavero) and began a search.

Great was the surprise of the investigations when they found bags containing severed human remains. Another qualified source indicated that human limbs and even a skull were found, which made it possible to corroborate that it was the person sought.

Search operations continued on Sunday.

Meanwhile, by order of prosecutor Analía Gallaratto, from the city of Villa Cura Brochero, the woman was detained in police stations and in the next few hours she will be charged with homicide.

Open search

The case is in its infancy and it is expected with its progress to clarify several points: where was the crime? Why? What was the link between the two? Was there violence prior to the final events? How did you move the remains? Did you have support from other people? among other questions.

Judicial Police personnel are working and the results of the forensic reports are awaited. The investigation is advanced but it is expected to deepen it as the days go by.

On Saturday afternoon, prosecutor Gallaratto, who for now has not referred to the case, was in the town of Nono, where the search base had been set up, to coordinate all the search tasks.

The search operation was deployed at various points in Traslasierra.

On Sunday afternoon, the Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement confirming the woman’s arrest. “According to the investigation, the detained woman had an emotional relationship with the deceased. “Both resided in Mina Clavero,” it was stated after confirming the arrest of the confessed murderer.
