Looking for an adventurous culinary experience? Then visit HOT&HOT on the Hobbemakade in Amsterdam! After an earlier visit in 2021, it was time to enjoy this culinary hotspot again. With two locations in Amsterdam and five in the Netherlands, HOT&HOT continues to expand. And our recent experience? That was fantastic!
HOT&HOT – Chinese hotpot
HOT&HOT offers an authentic Chinese hotpot experience, a popular cuisine that originated in China and is now loved worldwide.
This unique fondue method, which originated during the Wei Wen Imperial era, is characterized by cooking a variety of raw ingredients in a bubbling broth. This is the essence of the hotpot as you can experience it at HOT&HOT, where you prepare your food yourself in a large square pan with hot stock on a heating plate at the table. The idea of sitting together at the table and cooking different ingredients in a bubbling broth is both cozy and delicious.

At HOT&HOT you order broth for the table and you can also choose a dipping sauce. We chose the mushroom broth and the medium spicy soup base. In the middle of the pan you will find unflavored stock, perfect for noodles, for example. You can make the dipping sauce yourself at the dipping sauce bar, with ingredients such as garlic, chili, spring onion, hoisin sauce and sesame sauce. It’s also nice that some recipes for the topping are suggested. And then the best part: choose your ingredients! HOT&HOT has a varied selection of fresh ingredients, each with a recommended cooking time.

An abundance of flavors
When the hotpot arrived on the table, the spectacle began. The staff served all the meat and vegetables beautifully prepared. We were spoiled with a wide choice of dishes! From sliced beef and marinated chicken to juicy Sichuan chicken in chili oil and an abundance of vegetables such as lotus root, corn and cauliflower. Our table was soon full with containers full of variety. And honestly, we couldn’t even finish it all!
