Marisa Baigés: Returning to the Spotlight with Coffee and Theater

Marisa Baigés, a familiar face to many Puerto Ricans from her days on television, is making a comeback in the entertainment scene after a hiatus that allowed her to focus on personal matters and new business ventures. With a career spanning from the late eighties to the present day, Baigés became known for her energetic personality and infectious smile on shows like “No te duermas” and “Mira que TVO”.

After taking a break in 2013 to attend to family needs in Florida, Baigés returned to Puerto Rico in 2020. Now, she is back on stage as “Beatriz” in the educational play “Bad Together”, tackling topics like drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure among young people.

Reflecting on her time in television, Baigés reminisces about the “golden age of television” and the vibrant energy of local productions. She attributes her connection with the audience to being authentic and true to herself, stating, “I am me”.

In addition to her return to theater, Baigés has delved into a new business venture with her longtime partner, singer and actor Charlie Massó. Together, they have launched Bagori coffee, a 100% Puerto Rican artisanal coffee brand grown in Juana Díaz. The couple’s entrepreneurial spirit has led them to explore new avenues beyond the entertainment industry.

Despite her busy schedule, Baigés remains dedicated to her family, including her son Eduardo Javier González, who is excelling in the business world. While wedding plans with Massó are in the future, the couple emphasizes the importance of friendship and shared interests in their enduring relationship.
