President Javier Milei anticipated this Tuesday that February inflation would be below 15%, which he considered “a big number.”
In dialogue with journalist Samuel “Chice” Gelblung, the president also referred to the increases in prepaid payments and maintained that he does not open the exchange rate for fear of a run.
“It seems that it is below 15%, which is a big number,” he emphasized when referring to the number that will be known this Tuesday afternoon.
Despite this, he claimed to be “fully aware of what is happening” in the country and defined: “Correcting a hundred years is not free.”
The incidence of the increase in prepaid
In this context, he referred to the increase in prepaid payments and added that in the coming months inflation could reach single digits.
“If you add the prepaid increase, which is a one-time increase, and rates, which are once and for all, in that context, you are going to have to subtract almost 5 points from the number. When you see that, it will speak of a single-digit inflation,” he estimated.
