MPN mayors ask Rolando Figueroa to be the president of the party

A large group of mayors of the Neuquén Popular Movement (MPN) asked Governor Rolando Figueroa to evaluate the possibility of leading said party, “respecting democratic times,” according to a document that was known yesterday at the end of a meeting of communal leaders of the game.

“We are committed to promoting, together with him, equity, inclusion and well-being for all the inhabitants of the province,” they stated in the letter.

The communal leaders of the interior of the province of Neuquén expressed their political decision in a statement they released this Wednesday, and in which they highlighted their agreement and support for the policies and management actions that Figueroa deployed in his first month in office.

Currently the party is chaired by the former governors Omar Gutiérrez and Jorge Sapag, Government Board and Convention, and it was precisely because of the restrictive measures taken by conspicuous members of the MPN’s Blue list that they ejected Rolando Figueroa, who won the governorship by going outside the party.

“Those of us who subscribe, mayors of the Neuquén Popular Movement, whoWe express our firm support for the initiatives and announcements promoted by the Governor of our province, Rolando Figueroa”they said.

And they added: “Since his inauguration, the president has outlined policies of considerable relevance to progress and quality of life in Neuquén. Among them, we highlight the implementation of the provincial plan Redistribute Opportunities, Gregorio Álvarez Scholarships, aimed at guaranteeing educational equity throughout the province”.

“In addition, the announcements and changes in the Police highlight not only the incorporation of new officers, but also progress in the implementation of training projects. This highlights the importance of evolving and strengthening the work of the troops, and the security of citizens.“, they noted in the document.

“Likewise, the presentation of the project to eliminate privileged pensions shows a real political will to reduce State expenses, with the firm decision to eliminate prerogatives that resent people’s views towards the political class. This project clearly seeks to promote a more just society,” they noted.

And they added: “In addition, we highlight the importance of the regionalization plan that moves towards greater federalism with the objective of decentralizing the administration and guaranteeing that the entire Neuquén community has access to officials with decision-making power in each of the regions. A planned and participatory province is essential.”
