MAD Architects to Build Cloud 9 Sports Center in Shijiazhuang, China
Beijing-based architectural firm MAD, known for its innovative designs, is set to construct a new Cloud 9 sports center in Shijiazhuang, China. Led by founder Ma Yansong, MAD aims to create a cutting-edge facility that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings.
Located in Central Park in the cityās Central Business District, the Cloud 9 Sports Center will span approximately 6,000 square meters. The buildingās design features a soft, cloud-like facade made of translucent film, allowing it to harmoniously integrate with the parkās environment. The structure is also designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating cooling towers to optimize air circulation and reduce its environmental impact. Additionally, the roof will be covered in greenery, extending towards the park and enhancing the aesthetic value of the area.
Inside the sports center, visitors can expect state-of-the-art facilities including a gym with panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape, as well as indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
