With the choice of Juliano Krue Valdi (9) as the young Michael Jackson, the cast for the biopic about the pop star’s life is complete. This means that filming can start next week.

After it was previously announced that Jaafar Jackson (27) – the cousin of the deceased pop singer – will perform the adult version, the young Michael Jackson has now also been announced. Nine-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi will portray the pop star during his childhood. Krue Valdi is an Instagram phenomenon with 150,000 followers where he perfectly imitates Jackson’s dance moves, including the moonwalk.

Two actors were needed for the leading role, because the film covers the singer’s entire life. From his first musical steps with the Jackson 5 with hits such as I want you back, ABC and I’ll be there, to the last years of his life, when he was much discredited due to, among other things, his bizarre amount – in which he threw a baby over the railing of a hotel room – and alleged child sexual abuse.
Antoine Fuqua is the director of the film, which is tentatively titled Michael. Now that the casting has been completed, filming can start in a few days and the release is scheduled for April 2025.
