Former porn producer Dennis ‘Black Magic’ Burkas (49) remains in jail. His request for provisional release was rejected on Monday by the court of appeal in Antwerp. This was learned from the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office.

Dennis Burkas was sentenced to seven years in prison by the criminal court of Tongeren on April 18 for, among other things, raping eight women. He promised them a career in the porn industry, but they first had to sleep with him to prove themselves sexually. The man in his forties had also threatened two victims to force sexual relations. Several women were attacked by Burkas.
The court in Tongeren had ordered his immediate arrest, so he was arrested at his home that same day and taken to prison. His lawyer appealed the verdict. To get him released pending his trial before the Court of Appeal, he also filed a request for provisional release, but that was rejected. Burkas therefore remains behind bars.
