Qiu Chen established Taiwan’s first rock band “Qiu Qiu Choir” in 1981, with Jin Zhijuan as the lead singer. The first album “Just Tonight” released the following year was a sensation in Taiwan, and it also made the lead singer Jin Zhijuan popular. Among them, “Just Tonight”, “Why Dream of Him”, “The Fool on the River Embankment” written by Qiu Chen have all become classic songs.
Qiu Chen continued to create after leaving “Qiuqiu Choir”. He has served as a judge for the Golden Melody Awards several times, and he also cares about social movements through his songs. This year, Qiu Chen returned to his native language and devoted himself to the creation of Hakka music. Unexpectedly, it was reported on the 24th that he died of liver cirrhosis in Taichung.
