The Cuneo healthcare world in mourning for the death of Maria Viglietta, a long-time gynecologist at the Savigliano hospital and then a freelancer in Fossano. She was 72 years old, she died of cancer last night (Monday 14 March), in her home Fossanese of via San Michele. For two years she had been fighting against her illness, faced with great courage and which had not prevented her from continuing to work until a month ago, when her conditions suddenly worsened. Originally from the City of Acaja, daughter of the doctor Roberto Viglietta (one of the founders of the Santissima Trinità hospital and Avis di Fossano), Maria had graduated from the classical high school of Savigliano, then graduated in 1975 in Medicine at the University of Turin, to then obtain the specialization in Obstetrics and gynecology in the same University, where he also carried out various internships.
Employee of the Savigliano hospital until 1998, later she embarked on a career as a freelancer in the office in Viale Ambrogio in Fossano, flanked by expert specialists in gynecology and obstetrics (among others, Dr. Alessandro Morelli, who deals in particular with sterility). Over the years, Maria Viglietta followed hundreds of pregnant mothers, especially in the Fossanese and Saviglianese areas, but during her retirement she also worked as an outpatient specialist and in counseling centers.
