This Saturday the Cipolletti’s central square will become the scene of a festival in defense of education and public health. In health, workers have been demanding improvements in their salaries and working conditions for several weeks. For their part, the students ask that the budget allocations to the National University of Comahue not be cut.
“In defense of health and free public education”, It is the consiga under which the festival will be held in the city’s Plaza San Martín, organized by UNCo students and health workers. It will be from 4 p.m. this Saturday.
From the festival organization They ask for the collaboration of non-perishable food that will then be donated to canteens and picnic areas from the city.
The festival will feature the following guest artists: José Hernández Duo, Jona Muñoz, Segroovera, Bolicheros, Mave and Los Merecedores. Professor Lorena Rodríguez will also teach a Zumba and strong class.
The purpose of the festival is to express the rejection of budget cuts to public universities and discontent with some government measures that go against scientific investment, technology and education. They also complain about health salaries in the province that were below inflation.
