CNN – Time Out names New York the best city for 2024
The bustling metropolis of New York City has been named the best city for 2024 by Time Out. The city’s cultural offering, including its multitude of museums and thriving theater scene earned it the top spot. Additionally, New York’s famed gastronomy and architecture contributed to its position as the best city for 2024.
This accolade was based on a survey conducted by Time Out, which involved 20,000 city dwellers from around the world, as well as their network of writers and editors. The factors considered in the survey included the gastronomy, architecture, cultural events, along with overall livability.
Coming in at number two on the list is Cape Town, South Africa. Known for its stunning combination of sea, urban landscape, and mountainous environment, Cape Town was praised for its cultural offering, including museum nights and theater and comedy events at the Theater on the Bay. However, it was also noted that the city’s natural beauty and thriving cultural scene is not accessible to all its citizens, acknowledging the underlying inequality that still exists in the city.
Rounding out the top five are Berlin, Germany, London, United Kingdom, and Madrid, Spain, each recognized for their unique offerings, from lively nightlife to exceptional gastronomic experiences.
