Tragedy strikes Chilean actress Mariana Derderián as her son dies in a fire at their home. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, May 8, at their residence in Vitacura, Chile. Lieutenant Colonel Marco Fuentes reported that the fire started on the first floor of the house while Mariana’s children were sleeping. Despite Mariana and her daughter managing to escape, sadly, her son did not make it out and lost his life in the fire.
Investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a heat source related to an electric oil stove. Despite the efforts of Mariana’s ex-partner and father of the children, journalist Francisco Aravena, to save their son, he suffered burns to his respiratory tract and is currently in an induced coma at the German Clinic.
