The head of the Union for the Homeland bloc, which presides German Martinez, formally requested before the Chamber of Deputies a special session in order to address the mega DNU 70/2023 of President Javier Milei for next Tuesday, April 30, one day after the start of the session called to discuss the Bases Law and the fiscal package.
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem had called yesterday for a special session for this Monday starting at noon, but it was planned to continue until midnight and resume on Tuesday after an intermission, to dedicate a second full day to the treatment of the Base Law and the fiscal package.

With the request for a session of Union for the Homeland, in some way “the devil has his tail” because it would force the ruling party to speed up the vote on a law Bases which last February required three full days, and the return to committee was ordered when barely a couple of articles and subsections had been discussed.
Yesterday during the plenary session of commissions in which the omnibus law was passed, Martínez had anticipated that this Friday he would send a note to Menem to formally request a special session to discuss the «DNU for the Reconstruction of the Argentine Economy» signed by president Javier Milei.
At the end of his speech, Martínez stated: “I want to tell some deputies who were scandalized on December 20 when the President of the Nation issued DNU 70/23, which we hope, we long for, We hope that they will demonstrate the same plight they have today when we convene a special session in the next few hours where we can reject DNU 70/23.”.
In a challenge to the dialogue opposition that signed the majority opinion of the ruling party, the man from Santa Fe asked them to “If you give a quorum to this atrocity (due to the Base Law), give a quorum to the rejection of DNU 70/23.”
