Volvo C40 Recharge, in Milan the car becomes fashion

by admin

Presented at the Volvo Studio in Milan, in conjunction with the Milan Fashion Days, the capsule collection created exclusively for Volvo Car Italia by Gilberto Calzolari, a designer and prêt-à-porter brand committed to sustainability.

The collection is inspired by the values expressed by the new Volvo C40 Recharge, of which it incorporates the elegant “fjord blue” color. Volvo C40 Recharge, at the launch on the Italian market, is the first Volvo model in the history of the Swedish company to be “native” electric and leather free.

Reflecting the green soul of the C40 Recharge, the capsule collection underscores Volvo’s commitment to a zero-emissions future. By 2025, Volvo Cars intends to have 50% of its global sales volume made up of fully electric cars, with the remainder of hybrid models. By 2030, it expects every Volvo sold to be 100% fully electric.

Volvo C40 Recharge, built on the CMA platform (compact modular architecture), is equipped with two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, powered by a 78 kWh battery that can be quickly recharged to 10-80% in less than 40 minutes. Its certified travel range is approximately 420 km. The battery is protected by a safety cage formed by an extruded aluminum frame and has been placed in the center of the body, creating a deformable area around the battery itself. The central position of the battery on the vehicle floor also has the advantage of lowering the center of gravity and guaranteeing greater resistance to overturning. In the rear section, the electric powertrain has been integrated into the body structure to improve the distribution of impact forces away from the passenger compartment in the event of an impact.

“The new C40 Recharge, only electric and with its leather free interior – declared Michele Crisci, President of Volvo Car Italy – clearly indicates the path that Volvo has taken and will follow in the future. Being respectful of the balance of nature does not mean limit one’s own expressive abilities. With the C40 a new era is also opening: the Swedish Cas, in fact, will no longer adopt leather fabrics, but only fabrics produced and made with recycled material “.
