We believe in journalism: the full message

We Believe in Journalism is a campaign created by the Spanish advertising agency Portavoz for AMI Spain in 2020, with a lot of meaning, and which today brings together media and associations from various countries around its commitment to journalism and its mission to inform, as well as with the values that underpin it.

This effort is based on the need for permanent self-examination to improve the provision of this service, to bring true, clear and useful information to communities, highlighting the value of good journalists and good journalism, understanding that this is the best citizen tool to counteract fake news and misinformation that does so much damage to coexistence in our societies.

It carries an everlasting message, because it corresponds to the essence of journalistic work and the unavoidable commitments of journalists and media with the people. And it must remain active as a sign of commitment to its values, of openness in a permanent state of self-criticism, to guarantee that in the different Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking communities there is never a lack of media, plural and faithful to its vocation of service in an environment democratic with free press, right to information and freedom of expression.
