MEXICO CITY (AP) — Alan Bautista scored a double and Pachuca excelled on someone else’s court to beat Puebla 4-1 on Tuesday, placing itself as leader of the Clausura tournament in Mexico.

The Argentine-Paraguayan Sergio Barreto opened the scoring in the 5th minute for the Tuzos, but Pablo González equalized in the 13th. Bautista got his first goal in the 56th and Erick Sánchez increased the difference in the 66th.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Bautista completed the victory that allowed Pachuca to reach 18 points and place itself in the place of honor in the competition.

The Puebla squad is second to last in the tournament, with just four points.

In another early match on the ninth round, Necaxa beat Chivas 1-0 to consolidate its position in the play-off positions.

Colombian Díber Cambindo scored the only goal of the match, with a right foot inside the area at 30 minutes.

The Rayos occupy seventh position with 14 points, two more than Guadalajara, which stagnated with 12.

This Wednesday, three more matches of the ninth round will be played, part of which was brought forward to moderate the wear and tear of some Mexican teams involved in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Toluca hosts Santos, León hosts Cruz Azul and the champion América will host Mazatlán.
