Zirkus FahrAway from Basel to Novara: the first Italian stop is in the tent set up in the oratory

Graceful dancers and graceful jumps? None of this. At the center of “Ballett”, the show proposed in Novara by the Zirkus FahrAway of Basel, there are “pallet trucks”, that is to say small forklifts, retirement belts, clubs and more for an unusual, spectacular, thoughtful and fun circus. with live music and where art is combined with craftsmanship. The protagonists are seven artists – including, the only Italian, Luca Lombardi from Novara – tonight, Friday 18, and tomorrow at 21 and Sunday at 17 in the tent set up in the courtyard of the Madonna Pellegrina oratory in Viale Giulio Cesare. There has already been a staging for schools.

They organize the cultural association LaRibalta Art Group, a parish, set up including Boroli and the Municipality for World Theater Day. Ticket at 15 euros with reservations by calling 345-2358409 or by writing to the email [email protected].

Party for the 100 reruns

“We are celebrating in Novara, the first Italian stage of the tour, the hundred replicas of the show” says the deputy artistic director of “LaRibalta” Luca Lombardi, born in 1995, a young performer who in May 2020 joined the new production of Zirkus Fahraway as a clown, actor and musician: “We play in the open air and in tents, in towns and villages, on farms and in new places all over Europe.” It all started with a summer vacation adventure: in spring 2010, the young founders of Zirkus organized the first FahrAway tour in their area.

Since then, year after year, they have driven tractors and wagons between Basel and Bern, Zurich and Jura. Since 2015 they have also had a tent and can perform all year round: “Each new program comes from living, rehearsing and working together”. Three years ago, before the period of the pandemic, the canton of Basel-Landschaft awarded them the Nouveau Cirque sponsorship award as a circus with “unmistakable charm”.

The shows in the squares

The following year, Lombardi from Novara joins the company. They do it all: they paint, build, repair, sew, clean and organize. With the arrival of the Swiss circus in the city tomorrow, Saturday 19, and Sunday, the artists of “LeRibalta” also perform in the center (squares Duomo, Gramsci and Cavour) with street theater numbers. «Never before – say Roberto Lombardi of the association and the parish priest of the Pellegrina, don Franco Belloni – they serve theater, union and culture. Moments to get together ». –
