Health Conference on Sleep Pathologies to be Held in Verduno
The Auditorium of the “Michele e Pietro Ferrero” Hospital in Verduno will be hosting a conference on Saturday, 18 May focused on the pathology of sleep in both children and adults. The event aims to deepen knowledge on important sleep disorders that can impact the quality of sleep and have detrimental effects on health and lifestyle.
Dr. Alessandro Vigo, director of the Mother and Child Department and the Paediatrics and Neonatology Structure of the ASL CN2, will be leading the conference. The event will feature speakers from prominent medical institutions in Italy and Europe, specialized in sleep disorders.
“Sleep plays a crucial role in our overall well-being, and its disorders can significantly affect our health throughout our lives,” explained Dr. Vigo. “We will be focusing on four key sleep pathologies – narcolepsy, abnormal movements, restless legs syndrome, and obstructive apnea syndrome – discussing their causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options. Our aim is to increase awareness and promote a better understanding of these conditions among healthcare professionals.”
The conference, sponsored by AIMS (Italian Association of Sleep Medicine) and supported by the Banca d’Alba Foundation and the Alba Bra Hospital Foundation, will run from 8.30 am to 4 pm. Healthcare professionals interested in attending can reserve their spot through the dedicated website.
The event will highlight the differences between these sleep disorders in children and adults, as well as the common aspects and specific variations at different ages. By bringing together experts in the field, the conference aims to provide valuable insights and promote a culture of proper sleep medicine among healthcare professionals.
