National Women’s Health Day Celebrated in Rome

Rome will be celebrating National Women’s Health Day on Monday, April 22nd at Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese. The event, organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with various scientific associations and societies, aims to promote women’s well-being and raise awareness about the importance of women’s health.

The program for the day includes a meeting from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, which will address topics such as prevention, reproductive health, access to health services, and gender equity. The event will feature speakers such as Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, as well as representatives from women’s health associations and scientific societies.

Additionally, free cancer screenings and prevention visits will be available thanks to Lilt, the Italian League for the fight against tumors, the Consulcesi Foundation, and the Progetti del Cuore Foundation. Visitors can take advantage of these services from 9:30 AM to 2 PM outside the Casa del Cinema.

Francesco Schittulli, president of Lilt, emphasized the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, stating, “Cancers still represent one of the main causes of significant incidence and mortality among women. On the occasion of National Women’s Health Day, we once again focus on the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.”

The event will be broadcast live on the website www.salute.gov.it starting at 9:30 AM. Participation in the meeting is free, but accreditation is required. For more information, contact [email protected].

National Women’s Health Day serves as a reminder to prioritize women’s health and well-being, and events like the one in Rome provide valuable resources and information to empower women to take charge of their health.
