Sicilian healthcare gets new management with the appointment of healthcare managers across the region. The Schifani government, during its evening council meeting, appointed several new healthcare managers proposed by the Health Councilor Giovanna Volo. The new managers were chosen from a list of 49 suitable candidates and will lead various regional health facilities and university polyclinics. The new managers are expected to start their roles tomorrow and will lead the region’s healthcare facilities.
The President of the Region, Renato Schifani, highlighted the importance of the new appointments, emphasizing the need for a modern, efficient, and economically sustainable healthcare system that is attentive to citizens’ needs. The appointments are aimed at improving the overall healthcare system in Sicily and addressing issues related to infrastructure, waiting lists, and medical and auxiliary staff.
The new general directors appointed in the nine provincial health companies include Daniela Faraoni for Asp Palermo, Giuseppe Laganga Senzio for Asp Catania, Giuseppe Cuccì for Asp Messina, Giuseppe Capodieci for Asp Agrigento, Salvatore Lucio Ficarra for Asp Caltanissetta, Mario Carmelo Zappia for Asp Enna, Giuseppe Drago for Asp Ragusa, Alessandro Caltagirone for Asp Siracusa, and Ferdinando Croce for Asp Trapani.
In addition, several managers were designated for hospitals, Arnas and Irccs, and polyclinics in Palermo, Catania, and Messina. The appointments are part of the region’s effort to ensure high-quality healthcare for Sicilians and make the healthcare system more patient-centric.
