Approved the project for a fitness area in Pane e Pomodoro offered by Pfizer

A new fitness area will be built in the Pane e Pomodoro area thanks to an agreement between the Municipality and Pfizer. The municipal council has in fact approved the resolution for the participation of the Municipality of Bari in the project “Voltati, Look, Listen”, through which Pfizer srl, which has long been involved in the awareness campaign on women with metastatic breast cancer, wanted donate to the Municipality of Bari some gymnastic equipment to set up fitness areas in the public spaces of the city in favor of those who practice outdoor sports.

As recalled by the Municipality in a note, the pharmaceutical company itself will provide for the construction of the rubber flooring necessary for setting up the fitness area, as well as installing the gymnastic equipment. Specifically, the installation area proposed by Pfizer consists of a rubber base calculated on an area of about 130 square meters on which a sport bike, a bike for arms, an elliptical, a sit-up bench, balance platforms will be positioned. , a leg press and pull ups. The identified area is adjacent to the west pier of the city beach.

“We are happy that even private companies want to participate in our project to make Bari an open-air gym – comments the commissioner Pietro Petruzzelli -. Nowadays there are many citizens who prefer to play sports in the open air, in a free way or with organized subjects, so much so that in some days there is an overcrowding of some areas of the city. We believe that these initiatives can also be a support for sports operators, gyms and associations, as well as representing a further incentive for all those who have not yet chosen to wear gym shoes and go down the street or to the park to practice sports. Furthermore, with the offices, we are identifying other areas where to create new outdoor playgrounds, already in the planning phase, starting with the most peripheral areas of the city with an additional allocation of two million euros “.
