ATS rewards 70 ‘health promoting companies’

70 entities from the provinces of Monza and Lecco have been recognized with the prestigious “WHP – Workplace Health Promotion” Award this year as part of the “Companies that Promote Health – Network” programme. This initiative, led by WHP Lombardia, aims to promote organizational changes in the workplace that encourage healthy lifestyles among employees.

The annual conference of the regional WHP program recently took place at the Corte Tanzi in Albiate, coordinated by ATS Brianza. The event brought together companies participating in the European network to honor those that have implemented successful health and safety practices for their workers.

The conference also featured discussions on health promotion, with speakers including the Director General of the Brianza Health Protection Agency Michele Brait and Health Director Aldo Bellini. David Consolazio, a researcher at the University of Milan-Bicocca, was among the guests who shared insights on the importance of promoting healthy behaviors in the workplace.

One of the highlights of the event was a working table where companies could exchange best practices. Some companies not yet part of the program expressed interest in joining and implementing health promotion initiatives within their organizations.

ATS Brianza’s General Director Michele Brait emphasized the significance of the WHP program in preventing chronic diseases and promoting overall well-being among workers. By encouraging healthy behaviors within companies, the program also extends its impact beyond the workplace and into employees’ personal lives.

Dr. Brait expressed hope for the continued growth of health promotion initiatives within companies, highlighting the added value they bring to both workers and the broader community. The ATS will continue to lead efforts to promote workers’ health and well-being, both as a promoter and by implementing these initiatives internally.
