After the evenings in Serramazzoni and Polinago, where the initiative will be launched by spring, in February the Memory Gyms will be presented in the Municipalities of Sestola (on 19 February, at 6 pm, at the Municipal Library Room in Via Macello 1) and in Fanano (on February 29th, at 6pm, at the Bortolotti Center in Via Torre 1). The project will also start in Fiumalbo, thus enriching the map which has seen the Memory Gyms in Pavullo and Riolunato active for some time. By the end of 2024 the picture should be completed with the start of the process also in the municipalities of Lama Mocogno, Montecreto and Pievepelago.
The Memory Gyms are active prevention centers for cognitive decline in which, on a weekly basis, groups of elderly people carry out exercises to stimulate cognitive functions supported by volunteers trained by neuropsychologists from the Cognitive Disorders Center of the Modena Local Health Authority.
