BBVA Promotes Healthy Lifestyle Habits Among Employees

The financial institution BBVA has dedicated a week to promoting and raising awareness about the importance of healthy lifestyle habits among its employees. Medical consultations, nutrition, physical exercise, mental health, sleep hygiene, and many other activities have been the focus in all the countries where the bank has a presence.

Araceli Morato, head of Occupational Health at BBVA, stated, “For BBVA, it is essential to take care of the well-being of our team. The squad is the best asset we have, and we try to offer them the best value offer.” Since 2022, the bank has focused on this area with programs that are already producing significant results. “Throughout these months, more than 10,000 employees have participated in conferences dedicated to emotional management. About a thousand employees have attended conferences on anxiety, and the sleep hygiene course is one of the ones that has had the most impact,” he added.

The bank has also conducted studies for the prevention of diseases, such as colon cancer, dermoscopic skin cancer, and genetic studies for hereditary diseases. These programs have directly helped professionals in prevention and early identification of diseases while raising awareness about physical and mental health.

To celebrate wellness week, BBVA has defined an agenda full of activities dedicated to physical and mental health, nutrition, sports, and safety. Activities include glaucoma prevention and stress resistance tests, positive therapies with animals, trekking club activities, running club activities, and workshops on motherhood and fatherhood.

Nutrition will also be a key focus during the wellness week, with ongoing nutritional advice campaigns and masterclasses on nutrition. Training on rest, balanced diets, ‘mindfulness,’ and sports activities like group yoga classes, ‘spinning,’ and a race up the legendary La Vela building’s 458 steps complete the week-long agenda to promote healthy habits and corporate well-being.
