Highly tense evening in the Big Brother House. A phrase from Giuseppe Garibaldi, in fact, caused a new uproar. I don’t come to you and tell you that ‘I have lots of straight or blonde friends’. There is no need to specify, being gay has no characteristics different from those of others and there is no need to bring people together. It’s you who is altering yourself. And if Anita defends you by saying you’re from the small town she’s calling you ignorant. If you say you also have gay friends you are highlighting a difference. As if a group of people were different from straight people, when in fact we are all people”.
Garibaldi he tried to defend himself and even brought it up Beatrice Luzzi and the accusations of chauvinism: “I said it to give an example that there is nothing wrong in what I say. You told me that instead of using the word ‘man’ sometimes I should say ‘person’ and so I wanted to tell you that I don’t have problems with anyone. I explained to you that I have all types of friendships, even gay ones. You assume that I don’t have to tell you that. You’re getting into an argument and I don’t like it. You are looking for a handle on this argument which in my opinion was instilled in you by someone some time ago, I don’t know who. Like when they associated me with chauvinism”.
Anita Olivieri intervened in Giuseppe’s defense: “He doesn’t do it with negative intent. Let’s talk about a person who comes from a small town and knows how to handle things like me. He always remained in the context of him. I’m not saying he’s ignorant! Can you expect a person who lives on a mountain with three sheep and two people to know how to use the verb man? I know Giuseppe where he lives and how he lived. If you find Heidi in the little village on the mountain, do you expect her to speak like someone from London or Milan?!”.
