A tragic road accident occurred today, Sunday 14 May, on the A30 motorway, at the Mercato San Severino junctionin the province of Salerno: a 13-year-old girl sadly died, while four other people were injured, three of them in serious condition.

The dynamics of what happened are still unclear, but from an initial reconstruction only one car would be involved in the accident. At kilometer 52,600, the car – which was proceeding in a northerly direction – for reasons still under investigation, impacted the two guardrails of the roadway and overturned. The 13-year-old was thrown out of the passenger compartment and unfortunately died instantly: the timely intervention of the 118 doctors was useless.

In the car involved in the accident, in addition to the 13-year-old, four other people were also traveling. A man suffered minor injuries, while the other three people were seriously injured: a woman who was behind the wheel, a 16-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy; they were hospitalized between the Fucito hospitals in Mercato San Severino and San Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi d’Aragona in Salerno.
