Covid cluster in the General Medicine ward of the Riuniti hospital in Anzio and Nettuno. The assessment of the situation dates back to yesterday. Currently 9 hospitalized patients tested positive for the swab. All were placed in solitary confinement to prevent the spread of the infection to other departments. Three of the infected were immediately transferred to the Covid ward of the same hospital. Control tests are underway on healthcare personnel who have had contact and also on other patients to ascertain the real spread of the infection. Obviously, as a precaution, admissions to the ward have been temporarily suspended and any new patients will be sent to other facilities. The situation, in any case, assured by the ASL, is under control and there are no repercussions on other departments of the hospital. Many hospitals right now face similar situations and there are specific protocols to avoid inconvenience. For over two years in Anzio it was possible to avoid the infection, now it is being addressed.
