They fired at least eleven gunshots, perhaps with two firearms, and then fled by car, in a light-colored Panda. Terror last night in Corviale, where two 30-year-olds, with police records, were victims of a mafia-style ambush carried out by a commando in Largo Odoardo Tabacchi. One of the 33 victims, Cristiano Molè, already known to the police, near the Calabrian gang of the same name in Gioia Tauro, allied with the Piromalli gang, also active in the capital, was hit by a bullet in the chest and died shortly after: he was getting out of a car on the passenger side but the vehicle, parked near his home, was riddled with bullets. The other person targeted was instead wounded in the leg and in the evening he would have already been interviewed by the carabinieri of the investigative unit in via In Selci who are investigating together with the Eur company. But the Anti-Mafia magistrates and the leaders also arrived on site of the Ros.
The authors on the run
According to a first hypothesis, also given the precedents of the two, what happened could be attributable to a settling of scores, perhaps for drugs, in one of the main drug dealing squares in the capital. Molè had already been shot in Bravetta in 2014. Those investigating are analyzing the footage of some security cameras located in the area of the third lot of Corviale, but also along the route that the Panda may have followed both to arrive in Largo Tabacchi and during the escape. A hail of bullets fell on the victims.
Already knocked out in 2014 in Bravetta
It is not clear whether the two were in the company of other people who managed to take shelter. It also remains to be understood whether they had an appointment with the person who attacked them and whether there was an argument or in any case a confrontation of some kind before the shots. Investigations will be carried out on the telephone numbers, but also on the cells present in the neighbourhood, to reconstruct the contacts of the two, who after falling to the ground were rescued by some residents of the lot.
The Carabinieri Union
The news of the wounding of the two young people was disclosed by Unarma, the trade union association of the Carabinieri which expressed «deep concern and disdain for yet another act of violence – explains the general secretary Antonio Nicolosi -. Community solidarity is essential in times like this, together we can fight violence and pursue justice.” And the vice president of the council of the XI Municipality Marco Palma speaks of a «dangerous climate which risks returning the neighborhood to other times and compromising the many efforts made. A reaction is needed.”
