ELBA 2024: Congress to Address Animal Welfare in Key Areas

ELBA 2024 is set to bring together leaders, authorities, and professionals dedicated to animal welfare in three crucial areas: poultry and pig production, aquaculture production, and companion animals. The congress aims to elevate the quality of animal production and advocate for ‘One Welfare’, a concept that emphasizes well-being in animal production and healthcare for companion animals.

Animal Welfare is recognized as a critical component of sustainability and a key strategy in reducing the use of antibiotics in animals. With this in mind, ELBA 2024 will host 400 attendees and feature 36 international talks supported by sponsors committed to animal welfare.

Among the distinguished speakers scheduled to present at the event are Dr. Gemma Tico Gil, an expert in reputational communication for the pork sector, Dr. Juan Pascual, a prominent veterinary doctor and author, Dr. Ken Opengart, vice president of Animal Welfare and international sustainability at Tyson Foods, Dr. Arlene García Márquez from Texas Tech University-School of Veterinary Medicine, and Eng. Yahira Piedrahita, executive director of the National Chamber of Aquaculture of Ecuador.
