GROSSETO – It is part of a wider campaign, which sees the attention of the Carabinieri of the Antisophistications and Health Units focused on centers that offer medical services; last but not least, among these, the gyms, which offer a range of services that go beyond simple physical activity.
It was precisely a gym in Grosseto, the activity inspected by the Carabinieri of the territorial departments and by the NAS of Livorno: here the military detected, inside the structure, the presence of electromedical equipment suitable for therapeutic treatments such as lasers, tecar and shock waves. In addition to the devices, the Carabinieri found stamps, referable to two people, which reported the qualifications of physiotherapist and physiatrist.
The subsequent investigation activity revealed that the two subjects did not actually have university diplomas or qualifications that authorize them to qualify in that way, nor, therefore, could they exercise the medical treatments proper to those professional figures. The performances practiced in the gym proved to be different from those prescribed by doctors.
The Carabinieri then deferred the two subjects, Italians class ’61 and ’64, censured for crimes against the public administration, to a state of freedom, seizing in advance the devices used for the various rehabilitation therapies, found in the offices used by them at the interior of the gym. The crime they have to answer for is the abusive exercise of a profession.
