From Internships to Specialization: A Journey of Passion and Determination in Medicine

Diego García, former student of the Medicine degree at the University of La Laguna (ULL), has achieved one of the top ten grades in all of Spain in the Resident Internal Physician (MIR) exam. This marks the second time García has taken the exam, with his previous attempt in 2018 placing him thirteenth in the country.

After working in internal medicine for six years, García decided to pursue a specialty that would make him happy. He improved his previous score and now holds the seventh spot in the nation. García emphasized the importance of having a vocation for medicine in pursuing the degree.

Opting for Dermatology, García credits his internship experiences during his studies for guiding him towards this specialty. Despite the challenges of the medical field, García believes that those with a true passion for healthcare will find fulfillment in the profession.

García is set to begin his new role as a Dermatologist at the Hospital de Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria. He looks forward to the advancements in the field and the opportunity to continue his medical career in a specialty that aligns with his interests.
