With a video on Twitter, RJ Caringe (CEO and founder of the US car manufacturer Rivian) showed how the hidden field kitchen in the new R1T electric pickup works. A door is opened on the side and a peninsula of about 1.2 meters is pulled out, consisting of two modules: one includes two 1,440 watt induction hobs, in the other there is a sink with a tank of about 15 liters water. In this curious portable kitchen, an optional 4200 euro, there is also room for drawers in which to store various utensils.
Rivian is a company founded in 2009 that is committed to producing vehicles for sustainable transport: it has offices in the US and the UK. The R1T pickup, without kitchen, costs about 57 thousand euros in its basic version.
