Making their homes available for refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, who in turn can easily connect to availability, thus avoiding uncertainty or the harsh reality of refugee camps, becomes easier thanks to technology.
EU4UA, the platform accessible via computer or smartphone, was launched in just 48 hours last weekend and was born thanks to the intuition of four technology entrepreneurs co-founders of Jobgether – the French Arnaud Devigne, the Spanish Alexandre Hernandez, the Belgian Juan Bourgeois and Colombian Alexis Rodriguez. Over two hundred people from the tech sector all over the world have contributed to its creation.
The creators of this project worked with the aim of allowing all refugees to obtain decent housing for free, avoiding the harsh conditions of refugee camps.
The aim is to use technology to activate a decentralized and spontaneous form of solidarity that can cope with the situation of international crisis we are going through.
“Today already 1.5 million Ukrainians, mainly single women with children, have left the conflict zones to reach Europe, but in the coming weeks they could reach 5 million – say from EU4UA – Faced with this tragedy, millions of families communities expressed their solidarity and willingness to help. In the absence of accessible and efficient solutions, however, those looking for accommodation find it difficult to meet those who are willing to offer it Ā».
