German Bundestag – Lots of misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines

Berlin: (hib/PK) According to the federal government, there is no evidence of a connection between Covid-19 vaccines and an increase in antibiotic resistance or cancer. According to the Federal Government’s response (20/10357) to a minor question (20/10245) from the AfD parliamentary group, there is no evidence of this based on reports of suspected cases within the spontaneous reporting system or otherwise. There are no such studies known.

The Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) uses the spontaneous reporting system to record all suspected cases of side effects that are reported after a vaccination and continuously analyzes the data with regard to the benefit-risk ratio of the approved vaccines, the answer continues.

Since vaccinations against Covid-19 began, there has been a great need for information. There is still a lot of false information in circulation. Overall, the numerous speculative claims about alleged risks and quality defects have not been proven based on the current state of knowledge. However, the protective effect of Covid-19 vaccines against severe disease and death has been well documented.
