TRENTO. “Personnel not in possession of the green certificate must under no circumstances enter the workplace”.
This was written by acting general manager Antonio Ferro, who last night sent his 8,500 employees the first – and highly anticipated – circular on the green pass theme. A document with no particular novelties with respect to the rules known for some time, but also without what was the most awaited news: who controls?
Concrete instructions are awaited today or tomorrow, but the possibilities are not many: o the secretaries or coordinators will probably be the people in charge of installing the app on the mobile phone and checking doctors, nurses and obs.
But the healthcare world is very complex and there are not only hospital wards: there are canteens, there are clinics, there is the headquarters in via Degasperi, there are technical structures, there are cleaners. From Apss they let it be known that totem poles will be used in some structures, but it is not yet clear who is responsible for checking. The big knot to untie is obviously linked to numbers. Hundreds of people – mainly Oss, but also nurses and some doctors – are not vaccinated but are awaiting suspension measures: Apss has chosen the strategy of waiting, with the process that will end towards the end of October.
But the entry into force of the green pass, in fact, anticipates the times and from Friday a large part of this staff will not be able to put on their shirts and masks and go to the ward to work. With the shifts already defined by the end of September and with the staff already reduced to the bone, thinking about returns, availability, coverages becomes difficult.
Hence, a number of services are potentially at risk. How many and which ones will be understood from Friday onwards.
But in addition to the health personnel there are also the thousands of people who work for the health company or in any case in the facilities of the Healthcare Company. Also in this case, there may be inconveniences, as a consequence also for patients and citizens. Returning to the rules, Ferro explains to employees that “we will be able to request the green certificate when entering the workplace or at any later time during working hours”.
Those who do not have it will not be able to access, “in order to protect the health and safety of workers in the workplace and will be considered unjustified absent until the aforementioned certification is presented. For the days of unjustified absence, no salary or other remuneration or emolument is due “.
Who will be “discovered” without a green pass inside the department, the office, the laboratory will be fined economically (from 600 to 1,500 euros) and disciplinarily. Ferro also points out that the Company will not give employees free tampons. In short, a no vax healthcare professional will have to go to the pharmacy like every citizen. The provision also concerns volunteers, not just employees. And, although obvious, we underline that the rules do not concern who goes to the hospital as a user, or for health reasons.
