This updated guideline published by NICE covers the diagnosis and management of early and locally advanced breast cancer. It aims to help healthcare professionals offer the right treatments to people, taking into account the person’s individual preferences.
This guideline includes recommendations on:
preoperative consultation, diagnosis and evaluation; information and support; breast surgery and reconstruction; diagnostic evaluation and planning of adjuvant therapy; endocrine therapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, bisphosphonate therapy, and radiotherapy; primary systemic therapy; management of local treatment complications (lymphedema and mobility of the arms and shoulders) and menopausal symptoms; follow-up and lifestyle advice.
